Valley of Flowers
Valley of Flowers National Park is located in West Himalaya and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer,brown bear, red fox, blue sheep & rare Himalayan Monal Phesant.
Nainital
Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Uttarakhand State at an elevation of roughly 2100 meters. Naini Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore. It has 3 major lakes & is said to be one the best shining diamonds of Himalayan Belt. During the British Raj the town became a health resort favoured by British soldiers and by colonial officials and their families.
Haridwar-Rishikesh
Haridwar & Rishikesh are two holy cities on the banks of river Ganges world famous for Spritual tourism like Yoga and Meditation and is also famous for adventure sports like river rafting, zipping, bungee jumping etc.
Beatles Ashram
In February 1968, the English rock band the Beatles travelled to Rishikesh in northern India to take part in an advanced Transcendental Meditation (TM) training course at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The visit followed the group's denunciation of drugs in favour of TM, and received widespread media attention. Led by George Harrison's commitment, the band's interest in the Maharishi's teachings changed Western attitudes about Indian spirituality and encouraged the study of Transcendental Meditation. The visit was also the most productive period for the band's songwriting. In this ashram Eighteen of those songs were recorded for The Beatles ("the White Album"), two songs appeared on the Abbey Road album.
Ranikhet
Ranikhet is a famous hill station in Uttarakhand . It’s known for its magnificent views of the Himalayas. Famous Jhula Devi Temple with hundreds of bells adorn Jhula Devi Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga is located here. Ranikhet Golf Course is one of the highest golf courses of Asia and is 9 holes Golf Course. Mahatma Gandhi stayed in a hut, Gandhi Kuti, in nearby Tarikhet village during the independence struggle. Chaubatia (nearby place) has plantation of apricots , peaches , chestnuts, and almonds and is famous for apple orchards .
Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park, which is a part of the larger Project Tiger Reserve lies in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. Located on the banks of the Ramganga River, the wildlife zone is home to Endangered Asiatic Tiger , elephants and leopards, along with hundreds of species of birds , Reptiles & Vegetation . The park is highly sought after for Tiger sightings and for bird watching.
Badrinath Temple
Badrinath or Badrinarayan Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu which is situated in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. The temple and town form one of the four Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The temple is also one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Badrinath—holy shrines for Vaishnavites.
Munsiari
Munsiari is is situated at a height of 2200 meters. It is the center for mountaineers, nature lovers and tourists. The name “Munsiari” refers to a ‘place of snow’ . Various medicinal plants are also found in Munsiari , other than plants you will also get to see here many rare, endemic and endangered species of birds. Several birds out of them are Spotted Laughingthrush, endangered bird White Throated Tit, smallest bird of Asia Five Breasted Flowerpecker, Pied Thrush, Bearded Vulture, Snow Partridge, Hill Partridge, Robin Accentor, European Goldfinch, Mrs. Gould Sunbird and much more.
Auli
Auli is a popular hill resort in the Himalayan range dating back to 8th Century AD. Auli is a popular skiing destination in India because of its glittering slopes and clean environment. Dotted with apple orchards, oaks and deodars . The Auli Artificial Lake is one of the highest man-made lakes in the world and is easily the most scenic addition to this place. Another such marvel made by man here in Auli is the famous ropeway that runs between Joshimath and Auli, providing some of the most breathtaking views of the area. The Cable car runs for 4 Kms
